Gabriel Restrepo is a PhD candidate in the Department of Spanish and Portuguese and a Science in Human Culture Fellow at Northwestern University. He specializes in contemporary Latin American speculative fiction, with an emphasis on eco-dystopian narratives. Gabriel’s dissertation focuses on how dystopian narratives in Latin America articulate ecological anxieties and how they intervene in the social and physical reality of communities to envision possible futures in times of environmental crises.
